Would it be possible to do a perch adjustment by only removing the top of the shock from the shock tower? The the shock could tilt out relieving pressure and allow me to make the adjustment to the middle?

^Exactly @JanT knows what's up. It took a couple times to get it right. But work the jack on the LCA and use the weight of the truck. I used $49 Craftsman spring compressors and they worked just fine.

I compressed the springs with the weight of the truck and a jack then did the spring compressor and it still wasn't enough I guess I'll try again

Also is mid perch better than low perch for jumping? I know all the other benefits but no one ever mentions the effects of putting the truck in the air

In all seriousness the truck was designed and tested at mid perch. Regulations forced them to drop the front end for collision. Mid perch is best for off road handling you don't nose plow everything.
