Hey guys, first time FRF member here. 2011 6.2. I’ve had the truck for a year and it’s been consistently throwing a P0024 code that’s described as a bank 2 exhaust over advanced. I’ve read a laundry list of possible issues that it could be but wondered if anyone has had a consistent experience with one particular item or seen a common thread! TIA

If DTC P0024 is the only DTC, the issue is most likely mechanical in nature as opposed to electrical. This is due to the fact that P0024 is the result of a the VCT rationality check indicating that the VCT position is over advanced compared with the expected value. Most likely causes are a faulty VCT solenoid or sticking VCT phaser.

The easiest diagnostic test is to swap the VCT solenoids between banks. If the DTC changes to P0014, that indicates that the solenoid is faulty.
