I purchased a M1102 with a cap last year. I've used it a dozen times, mostly as a camping trailer. I put a lot of the heavy tools...jack, CO2 tank, recovery shackles, chain, etc in the trailer and out of the bed of the Raptor.
This past Fall I moved the heavy stuff back into the bed to balance the Raptor in the snow. On another thread I posted a picture of a similar trailer and someone commented on wanting to see more....
It's a blank canvas at present. I have a cot across the front with plenty of room for storage underneath. I mounted a CO2 tank on the drivers side behind the wheel well. Planning on a gel deep cycle battery behind the passenger side wheel well.
I'd like to add a rooftop tent but need to reinforce the roof somehow...85" wide supported by 3/4 inch square tubing...I wouldn't trust it with any weight at present.
Any thoughts? I had thought of getting a set of brackets/bows that were used by the military and modifying them to make an exoskeleton with a platform above the cap. But until I see one I will be unsure if that will be strong enough also...
Thanks in advance; some pictures....

Sweet trailer! I would do an exoskeleton with 1.75" DOM tube that ties into the side of the trailer or maybe even the frame if possible.

TiFJ,
The body of the M1102 is aluminum. It has brackets that support a canvas top/bows. I was thinking of modifying the brackets such that the bows fit into the brackets on the outside rather than the inside....as well as modifying the attachment base so that the cap will fit inside the brackets.
An exoskeleton would require reinforcement plates and the only steel is in the frame...so an endoskeleton might be more feasible.

Fender,
They were designed to be pulled by the Hummers. The M1101 by any Hummer; the M1102 by Hummers with reinforced hitches. The M1101 is the same as the M1102; the M1101 is rated for GVW of 3,400# towed by the standard Hummer hitch; the M1102 GVW is 4,200# to be towed by Hummers only with the reinforced hitch.

Looks solid, like you could pull that thing about anywhere.

DHawks,
It is stout! When I have the off road jack/tools all stacked up behind the wheel wells it's easy to move around. It has surge brakes which make backing up...especially uphill...a challenge. Worst thing is that it's like driving pulling a parachute! No bouncing around offroad at moderate speeds....It's got the same size tires as the Raptor. Ground clearance is about 14 inches...above that of the Raptor!
