As promised I finally got around to installing the Osram CBB(cool blue boost) HID bulbs into the truck and wanted to share my thoughts. Just a little back story, I had the original Osram factory bulbs and wasnt a fan of the yellow color temp nor output. I tried picking up some cheap $50 D3S bulbs from amazon rated at 6000k temp. I was much happier with the color temp over the yellow look but still not thrilled with output.
I started researching and all roads led to either the Osram CBBs or the Philips extreme vision as being the brightest with color temp I was looking for. Now the Osrams say "up to 7000k" and obviously that would start pushing into the realm of more of a blue color temp, however once installing, the 6000k amazon specials were definitely the bluer of the two. I personally would say the Osrams are a pure white with slight blue, maybe in the 5500k range. Now these are a lot more $ than a lot of other options at $165(with coupon) but to me proved to be worth it. They are brighter than the factory and cheap amazon bulbs . Where they really shine(pun intended) is high beam output, man are they bright. Would I buy again, yep.
If you decide to take the plunge, beware, as a lot of knock offs are being sold on ebay/amazon. Osram has a way to verify if they are authentic online. Without further ado some pics to compare to amazon specials(sorry no before night pics or high beams with the Osram CBBs, will try to get a pic up of that).
Amazon bulbs on top/Osram bottom, notice the intensity hot spots between the two...winner Osram
Osram on the the right
Osram both sides
Osram day shot
