For low price & robustness, the Porter Cable fits the bill.
But if you want a machine that operates very smoothly,
then you should pony-up and get the Rupes.
Particularly if you have any issues with wrists, elbows, etc. .

I have a Cyclo. Dual heads cuts the time in half and you’ve got plenty of speed adjustment and it’s a random orbital to avoid any issues marring your paint.

I’ve probably used mine 5-10 times over the years and just don’t have the time to detail my own vehicles anymore.

Could you make you a deal on it if you were interested.
That thing is 3 and a half bills. What’s the ‘deal’ price? DM if u prefer. It looks like it could make quick work of a bigass vehicle.

I have an old Porter Cable DA polisher. It still works good so no sense in replacing it yet. I also have a Dewalt rotary buffer. I use the rotary if I paint something and wet sand and buff it, or occasionally to get out a deep scratch. But the DA polisher is good for removing swirls and fine scratches.View attachment 151883

I would caution using that pad on the Dewalt with factory paint. It can burn thru really quick, even for experienced folks.

I wouldn't recommend anyone without experience to use a rotary at all.
How does one get experience then? Asking for a friend.

I’m looking to apply wax/sealer a little more efficiently.

Get a DA polisher there pretty much idiot proof. He was talking about an orbital.

You get experience by doing and also learning from mistakes. I would start on your kids car, neighbor's car etc, before hitting your $70K truck.

But like said above start with an orbital. I use the rotary to dig deep on big scratches (with a foam pad) prior to the DA.
