I came across an article discussing magnets that attach to the outside of the oil filter to help capture very fine ferrous metal particles that may otherwise pass through the filter. I’m considering trying a FilterMAG on my Raptor R’s FL-500-S oil filter and was curious if anyone here is already using one. If so, have you ever cut open the filter or noticed any evidence that it’s actually capturing anything? Any downsides or concerns with using one? Just curious to hear some real-world experience before I spend the money.

I don’t have a magnet nor do I know if it may or may not do anything but my guess would be the filter should be catching the particles already. Also I would be curious if it would be strong enough to catch them out of the oil flow assuming the oil is flowing a pretty good rate to lube the entire engine.
I guess it couldn’t hurt anything but at worst you are wasting $75. Pretty cheap in the grand scheme of owning a Raptor R I guess.
