Stock everything. Not looking to mod anything for a wheel change-

Want 35x12.5x17 and method NVs. Curious about the rubbing

If necessary, method NV in an 18 has a 18 mm offset. But is 9 inches wide instead of 8.5, like the 17 inch version. So not sure if that is a wash

1/4” on inside and out, ideally in addition to the -16mm offset given up (gen2 - what was gen1 offset?) I just did +18mm / 8.5” wheels on my 2017 and it’s definitely a little tighter at full lock, doubly so if you have mud flaps.

so my options are 17" wheel 0 offset
18" wheel that is 1/2" wider and an 18mm offset (or 0 if chosen), but probably fits like 12mm offset after width adjustment
No 18mm offset for the 17s

18mm is .7 inches.
going from 34mm back to 0 is almost 1.5 inches inward correct? guess i will be making 6 point turns.

going with ridge grappler which isnt overly aggressive but is no slouch to the mts

maybe the extra 1/2" width of the 18 wont matter because the tire is the same. So 18mm offset and around 3/4 difference on the 18s and 1.5 inches on the 17s

Have mud flaps.

about $300 higher price to go to the 18 set up for wheels and tires. not sure on the gain or loss in weight of the 2 combos. Negligible daily but adds up over time

Would mid perch solve any minor rubbing? not opposed to that

good question. A little extra elevation up front probably would help but, I can tell you there not a butt-load of full lock clearance regardless. I don’t think 00 offset will work without trimming.

You will want to be at mid perch with 8.5"/0 offset and some trimming may be needed depending on which 35" tire you run.

I would still recommend mid perch with 9"/18 offset, but you could test it without first and see if there is any rubbing.

There is a thread that provides some higher offset options for 17s, but the selection is pretty limited. Icon & Fuel have some 8.5"/6 offset options that meet in the middle of what Method offers.

I run a 9 wide +18 offset and will get rub at mid lock. This is with a stock size Duratrac on bottom perch. You may be able to dial in a little extra caster to get away with it, but as @HORN HIGH ACES mentioned going to mid perch will be your best bet.
