@grleon65 posted his trip to the lava tubes in the Mojave back in April and after seeing the pictures I knew I had to go as well. Since the airline wouldn't sling load my Power Wagon and I didn't have the time to drive cross country on this trip, I did it in a rental. I'd originally thought I was getting a Wrangler, but I ended up getting a Ram 1500 4x4. It did the trip just fine, although one hill on Lava Tubes Rd was a bit challenging.
I saw mostly Jeeps out there, but did see one White Raptor, a couple F-250 Super Duties, and an Excursion representing Ford. Several Ram HDs on the trail, but no PW. Nissans and Toyotas seemed well represented as well. We did stop and 'sign in' at the Mojave mailbox while out there. One of the "offerings" was a COVID test kit.
