I had an exhaust cut-out installed today and need to hook up the electrical switch. Any suggestions on how to route the control cable from under the hood to inside the console? How about how to remove the lower portion of the console?

If you haven't used all the stock pass-thru wires, that would be my first choice.

Or since you are coming from under the truck you might try the route I used for my CB antenna... look here:

If you did this on the passenger side you could go under the carpet from the door sill and get the wire into the console like the USB mod does here:

Thanks MarkT. That's a lot better start at it then i had an hour ago. I'll try stickin' it in my grommet hole.

Can't use the factory switches because the cut-out requires a (momentary on - off - momentary on) type switch. On/Off won't do it since there is not automatic off on the electric motor.

Definitely consider using those pass thru wires as Mark suggests. They're going to be your best (easiest) bet.

NP... I wouldn't go under the hood unless you need to. And you'd have to use up two of the pass through wires? (they aren't connected to the stock switches so you could use them for other stuff if you wanted to)

Pass thru wires are being used for 1) Driving Lights 2) Long Range Lights 3) Fog Lights 4) Train Horn

Ok - I heeded your advise and routed the control cable thru a grommet in the running board and that worked out great. But i still need a hot wire and a ground into the center console. Any suggestions on how to route thru the fire wall?

Never mind, I finally got it!!!! My 15 year old son did it actually. He's not distracted by the fact that it can't be done without instructions like i am.
