Thanks, most are on the main ridge that runs between the Lehigh River gap, which is on the opposite (south) side of the mountain from Palmerton, and the next gap east, which is right by Blue Mountain ski area. Palmerton is about 10 minutes south of Lehighton. A real nice way to tour the mountain is to start across the road from Blue Mountain ski. There is an access road about 200 feet north from the AT that my friend built as he's contracted for rehabbing the mountain with new trees and grasses. It's a 4X4 road and is a great way to get up onto the top and hike the ridge. Hiking up the rocks is not for everyone, including me sometimes. The 4X4 road makes it a lot easier. Once you get up top you are back on the AT again. If you don't mind doing some bouldering you can go up the steep side right from the river, that's where many of the nice views are. Many of my pics are from some ridge points there, you can often see eagles cruising the valley. The trail is pretty well marked with white paint blazes. I also hike up in the dark sometimes, it's REALLY quiet! Feel free to PM me if you think you want to go there some time. If I can't get free to show you, I can at least give you A LOT of info on where and how you might like to hike. You can do from easy to really bust your balls depending on your route. If you are going fall or winter, get off early because the sun drops really fast. I've been surprised more than once, that's how I found out I actually like it up there in the dark at times. It taught me to be a headlamp, flashlight, and a charged phone kind of guy!
