Go for it...find a local airport and check out their flight schools.
There are 2 types: FAA Part 141 & 61. Part 141 is more for airline pilot training. So I recommend Part 61.
Usually they have introductory flights to see if you like it.
I was flying today and it was fantastic.
I drive right by hancock airport in Syracuse NY every day. I looked into flight school after you posted that pic!! They also have a club to join for plane rentals. As soon as all my truck mods are paid I will be looking to start flight school.
I fly in Syracuse a few times a month sometimes more beautiful area! SkyFrog is right 61/141, I did both back in the day, and taught both. That being said 61 is more at your pace when you want etc etc, 141 is more structured like a class kind of.
