Do you have the truck? If so, crawl under there and see if yours is metal or plastic. Mine was built at the end of February and it has the metal oil pan.

Do I need to remove the skid plate to see it?
Sorry, i have a badly injured back and neck and I try to avoid crawling unless I have to.

Nothing has to be removed to see the back of the oil pan. I slid under mine using a furniture pad as a cushion. Mine has a build date of 3/18 on the door sticker and it says 02/26/18 on the Window sticker, so yours with a 4/18 date should have it!

Thanks for your help bud. Just went underneath and it does have, as you indicated, an aluminum oil pan :)

Well shit... My 18' is a very early production... Now I have to find a way to make it leak so they replace it with the metal one under warranty... Maybe I'll go on a Baja run with @KentSD he doesn't seem to have problems getting the plastic ones to leak.

Had them melt twice. Replaced both time with plastic again! haha

Remove rear LCA crossmember

Remove differential mounts

Lower differential

Remove oil pan bolts

Remove front timing cover bolts

Remove rear cover bolts

Drop pan

Replace pickup(if yours is different)

Use motorcraft TA-31 Diesel engine rtv on pan and install.

Reinstall timing cover bolts

Refill engine, check for leaks.

Ford factory service manual states engine must be removed for oil pan replacement.
