Old thread update request. Anybody that's mounted a point 1 in this spot regret it? Any luck on the plasti-dip?

it works

plasti dipped my black to match the truck...works great. I also mounted it inside the ruck on the dash right behind the screen. HDS 7.

I mounted mine on a SDHQ a pillar light mount. Made a aluminum plate to attach it to. Works good with HDS 9 Carbon

I mounted mine on top the roof with this clamp on bracket from ACARI

New Lowrance units have an internal antenna. I skipped the one-point mount for a cleaner look and haven't had any issues

Which unit did you get? I’m in the buying process and eyeing the HDS7 touch. I can justify the high initial price of it means I don’t have to invest in an antenna
