It looks clean in the pics, but they’re not high resolution and as I’ve learned looking at houses, pictures may add 10 pounds, but they can certainly do a house or car justice.

it’s got over 38k miles on it and the price looks ok. it’s got wheels and presumably newer than stock tires - check them.

you need to do a cold start - that is, the truck needs to be shut down overnight and you need to be the one to start it. If the truck is started and moved for you, don’t buy the truck that day. You need to start the truck after a cold soak to see if it’s suffering from the cold start rattle indicative of the cam phaser failure to park issue. start it, if it rattles abnormally on start up, you have some things to think about.

There are parts available now that address the problem but there weren’t until recently. It’s a rare issue, but has enough occurrences to generate wild internet rumors.

check carfax for work done, get a full raft of pictures and take a really long test drive. Since this is a 2017, look for harsh shifts or delayed shifts. The programming on early 2017’s left something to be desired, especially in ’normal’ (eco) drive mode. If you find the truck won’t downshift without full throttle - think exit ramps, highway speed trying to pass someone, it needs reprogramming.

You’ll have plastic oil pan; another rare but it happens issue - check for leaks.

As with any used vehicle, it’s good to get underneath and check it out with a decent light, take pics, etc.

it pays to be thorough on the vehicle inspection, and make the condition of sale the vehicle meets your expectations. I would definitely get anything identified repaired as a condition of sale - pre sale. Once it’s yours, negotiations are on their schedule, not yours.

if the truck makes rattling noises on cold start - plenty of cam phaser rattle videos out there, either move on, or get it fixed before you buy, not after. if they’re not willing to do it, walk away.

You have door lock and pillar insulation recalls to be completed, they’r probably already done but just to cover the bases, make sure.

good luck !
