I'm selling my C6 corvette and looking to buy a used raptor. I'm pretty much going to have to get a 2010 with the 5.4 unless I find a crazy deal on a 6.2. My question is, how many miles is too many miles? I can find them all day with 100,000+ miles which really doesn't bother me if its in good condition. Is 140k too many and should I try to stay around 100k? Also, are there are any common issues to look for? Im aware of the fuse 27 issue but anything else for the early year raptors? TIA

I personally would dump the vette and save through the winter. The 5.4 has head issues when up in high mileage, and you're down 100 hp in an already heavy truck.

5.4 is known to be a reliable motor, especially the last year(s) of production with all the upgrades (2010 has all upgrades). There are plenty of 6.2s out there for pretty cheap, too. It has proven to be a reliable motor, too. I'd keep my radar looking for a 6.2 with low 100ks.

Yeah I've been searching a lot but pretty much only find 2010s for around what I can get for my C6($25,000). I would obviously get the 6.2 if I find a steal but I don't see that happening for low $20s. I've been looking for a couple of months and have found some good looking 2010s and I would assume that since I'm in the Atlanta area, not many people are jumping them lol.

Used 2010 in Santa Maria with 77K miles. Race Red, or whatever the 2010 color was. Appears lightly used. They're asking $35K but they've had it all summer, bet they'd make a good deal but probably not in the lkow $20ks.
Santa Maria Ford, it's on their website. Long ways from Atlanta but it might be a nice drive to get out of the Hurricane Zone.

I've found a couple 2010 5.4s with a little over 100k miles ranging from $21,000 to $24,000. Found a 2010 6.2 with 115k miles for $22,000 today as well

I don't think 140k is too many miles...but I bought my '13 with 152k (same boat, budget limited to under $30k and this one was on craigslist in west TX for $28k; the tires were roached so got them down to $26k). Just a matter of how much you're willing to work on it I guess. Less miles is definitely better but I wouldn't be afraid of higher numbers. I'd shy away from the 5.4L, I was thinking it was more like 60hp less but man those weird-ass spark plugs just look like a disaster waiting to happen. Somebody posted a pic a while back of a '10 rolling 500k miles, so that's impressive, never found out if it was 5.4L or 6.2L but either way it goes to show they will last. Good luck you'll find one I'm sure.

I just bought a molten orange 2010, one owner raptor in Ohio last month for $22,000 and has 136.000 miles on it with the 5.4 and it runs great. Everything works on it also. The shocks were bouncy on the back so instead of getting them rebuilt I just bought some 2017 raptor take offs for the front and rear for 640 bucks and put them on. It rides great now.

x2 on waiting for the 6.2, you will have a ton more fun with it. Some small issues that the older raptors had were the driveshaft clunk, a transmission electronic input seal leak, and depending on where you are looking to purchase, LOOK AT THE ROCKER PANELS!!! They rot out pretty badly and the last thing you want to do is purchace one and then have to drop 3k on new rockers. Or best yet, take that off the price of the truck.
