Not sure on the Gen 2 but I was able to mount a 30” bar to the grill brackets on my Gen 1 no problem. I got a great deal on some KC LED bars from Tire Rack when I assume they were closing them out since they don’t carry KC now. I also put a 20” in the bumper and the 30” in the grill puts out a little more light but it looks great. I have been impressed with how well the KC’s have held up looking like they did the day I installed them after five years.

Hey, I’d sure like to see some pics of the 30” bar mounted to the grill brackets. Which model light, bracket kit or diy? Thanks

The light bar is a KC C30 and no bracket was needed. Attached is a couple of pics.

I've had good and bad luck with both cheap Chinese led bars and Rigid ones as well. I've had some Rigid lights get water intrusion and fail early and I've had a Chinese light bar make it 100,000 miles on the front of my Gen 1 without failing, although the lens did get hazy and needed several rounds of harsh buffing to make it look decent again. As others have said the light output isn't near as good as Rigid or BD.

I know i might get scolded for asking this but before i spend hundreds of dollars on a baja design light bar or any other reputable brand i want to try out a budget build.
was thinking about amazon branded.

do you know which bracket i need or where to buy the bracket that will fit behind the grill?

Also behind the grill vs outside the grill, how much performance difference are there?

Well we make a bracket that mounts most light bars:

However you save a bunch of money when you add on a Baja Designs light bar to our bracket.

Just to be off topic. I did purchase a baja design A pillar light from my friend. It only has pig tail at the end of it. Do i just run the extra 16 gouge wire to axillary and ground the black wire? or do i need a harness.

A harness would be the most correct answer, optionally with a relay depending on what light or lights you got and what up fitter you hope to connect them to.
