2018 supercrew with 27k miles bought in October 2017. I've started getting a lot more road noise from my tires and just wanted some opinions on whether my ko2s are ready to replace or if they still have a bit to go. They have seen a fair amount of gravel, dirt roads, etc from a lot of hunting trips. Image 300 is rear, other is front. I have rotated them every 8k. Thanks!860825f6f9136163e2ededca50fb2eb3.jpg6706994b9209bf1f7d16e1d79681e491.jpg

At 15,000 miles my ko2s starting making alot of noise. At 75-80mph they would cause the turn signal lever to vibrate and make a weird high pitch noise. At 38,000 miles my tires looked about what yours look like in the pic. If I remember right they were 6/32nds all around. I just purchased new ko2s. They are so quiet now. No vibrations or noise at any mph. They stop so much better and dont spin around every turn.

OP was rotating every 8k. Where you doing that?

I think I would be pleased to have that much meat on the tires left at 38k miles. To me they look like they could go another 5k, if the noise was tolerable.

There are two different tread compounds for KO2’s.

One is called D/T (more dense tread compound- comes with 50k warranty- no snow rating)

The other is non-D/T (softer tread compound- no 50k warranty- does have snow rating)

Factory Raptor KO2’s are NON D/T. That’s why you are seeing increased wear and noise. The non D/T won’t last as long but is better off-road (supposedly)

I was rotating every 5k. I believe my tires could have gone atleast another 5k. I was just sick of the noise and the feel on the highway. I picked up the replacement tires from Costco. They are same same c load rating as what came on the truck.

Thank you. I saw the 2 different load ratings for the same tire on tire rack, but never knew the details on why they were different.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I'll start shopping around. The noise annoys me more and more every day.

I've got 19K on mine, decent tread wear, but horrific wet traction.

The D/T tread lasts well over 50,000 miles and the wet performance is improved in my opinion. I would never buy the non d/t.
