Was doing some off-roading yesterday and appear to unfortunately have put some scruff marks (from tree branches, doesn’t appear to be scratches) on the front panel above the tire well / back of side mirror. Not sure if the pictures do any justice the damage, but anybody have any recommendations on how to fix? Or is my best bet just taking it to Ford / reputable body shop?

That’s pin striping. It happens all the time and that’s a particularly susceptible area to pin striping. The good news is that it looks like it’s not that deep or doesn’t look that deep in the pics.

You should be able to recover with some polishing compound, rubbing compound, a microfiber rag and elbow grease. With black paint, every little scuff shows up.

With a rock chip, you’ll generally clean out the chip area, partially fill with paint, slightly overfill with clear, wet sand down to level with very, very, very, very fine grit sandpaper. You start a little on the coarse side ( I want to say 800 grit, maybe 1000 ) and work your way up to finer - 2000, 2200 grit, then to compound with a rag.

Here, you probably don’t have too much intrusion into the clear so you ‘blend’ it. I’ve recovered a few scuffs that looked like what you are seeing.

I will fully defer to pretty much anyone here, as I am about as far from a body shop professional as you could get. That said, your pictures look like... 3-4 pints of beer.

Good luck !

Congrats…a Raptor being used as intended! You got the answers you need from @smurfslayer but I just wanted to suggest carrying some gardening gear with you. Clippers, loppers, tree saw, etc. I was off-road on Sat and would have definitely come home with more pinstripes. I jump out of the truck, clear the nasty damaging stuff, keep moving down the trail and repeat as necessary.

yeah, not a bad idea on the pruners - I usually have a cordless chainsaw with me, but small branches will snag the chain and yank it off the gear with ease.
