Well I guess if you want to torch your jeep and claim it on insurance as a total loss, the desert is a good spot. Aint nobody putting it out there. Or, it was some aftermarket lights or stereo stuff.

Wonder if the clutch gernaded - still a large issue with the JL wranglers. They did a TSB on it but there is another one pending for the clutch assembly where they are reducing power if the assembly gets too hot.

Back Story: I was rolling Large in my Race Red Fiesta :0 (sold my 2010Gen1 w/200k miles, still shopping for my 2019 at the time) pulled up to the Mt Hamblin Trail Head, about 18 miles from East Entrance of Lake Mead. They pulled over because it was “Smoking” blaze was soon to follow we got the trailer disconnected and pushed away, pulled out the Marshmallows & Dogs and watched her burn to the ground. FD was 30 min out min, Plus 10 min to get the BBQ off the grill so you’re looking at a 40min (no chance) response.
The pavement burns are still there today.
