For those of you who switched over to a Gen 2 from a Gen 1, did you notice any improvements in MPG? I know Ford lists Gen 1 as 11-14 and Gen 2 as 15-18, but those numbers seem a bit off from what I've gathered.

The lower end of both ranges seem about right to me. Our 2010 6.2 shows about 10 avg, the 2018 shows about 15. Granted the '10 does a bit less highway, so we can add a mile or two. The '18 sees more highway but that's around 75-85 mph. Both on 87 octane now, thanks Brandon. The '22 is showing less than the '18, but it only has 400 or so miles on it. Will be running 93 in it after the dealer gas is gone.

I never owned a gen 1 but I have gotten as high as 16.2 in the city (slowly rolling from a start and never went over 45) and 19.4 on the highway (never went over 75 and was drafting semis and on flat ground)

You put 87 in your eco? Does it ping? It hurts but I always do premium 91, that's the highest grade we get here. My truck gets 13 - 15 city and 17 -19 hwy depending if I can keep under 75 mph.

My gen 2 averaged 18.2 MPG combined over 24,000 miles. 91 octane always.

Yes, 87. No pinging, Just down on power and mpg. But after doing the calculations 87 and 93 I have decided to switch back. Though the '18 will be for sale soon. Will run 93 in the '22.

I get anywhere from 15 city, 16-17 combined city/hwy, and 19+MPG all hwy with my gen 2. I see 3-4 mpg better than my brothers gen 1 across the board.

I get between 10 to 14 MPG in my Gen 1 depending what I am doing. Towing my boat low end, highway taking it easy 13 plus.
