man. just did this finally. i never had an issue with mine. no melted fuse box. looked perfect, but did it anyway.

i have to say, this was the easiest thing i have done to the truck yet. the kit has a good step by step instructions and everything you need. even the correct length heat shrink. i watched a video of a tech doing the mod, and the one thing he did that was a big help (and not in the instruction book) was removing the metal bracket the fuse box sits in. made it much easier to gain some room to flip it over and get to the wires.
