looks pretty bad for the F series. No wonder why the lots are so empty.

In the last analysis I read, the F150 line was worth more than FMC in total. There was speculation that VW might buy Ford and shitcan the entire non-truck business. Somehow I doubt that has changed much in two years.

I can see that, but I think the Ford heritage and brand have a lot of value. There's a reason why Ford keeps reusing it's old names. And the Bronco wouldn't do nearly as well if it was made by Kia. I don't think you just dump all that.

But if Ford did get sold to a non-US entity, that's pretty much it for US automotive IMO. GM is the only non-specialist automaker in the US? No thanks.

Guys this is simple problem solving situation for management in business principles, they have too many employees for not enough product being made. That means they are running too hot and they need to trim down and cool off. Yes, they have massive backlogs and lots of work to technically do, but they don’t have the needed materials to crank up production so they are paying too many ppl to not do enough work at probably a loss to them. We have also been in rough seas and are heading into some worsening unstable times which would contribute to wanting to tighten your company down for the storm. Just like Musk is also talking about laying off a bunch of folks at Tesla to trim the company. Companies will need to slim up to survive.

Unlike the government which is just a gluttonous monstrosity spending and destroying everything it touches with no repercussions or accountability, ford has to actually keep a boat afloat. Really if I was Ford I’d try to sort out the backlog first and stop taking new orders until you get caught up.
