I’ve heard of yearly inspections but we don’t do that here in Michigan. where do you live and what’s required in those inspections?

As the profile says, TX. It's basically to make sure that the vehicle meets the state's requirements for street legal vehicle. Lights functioning, emissions test, brakes work, etc.

Ahh gotcha looking on my phone so I didn’t see the bio. Makes sense I guess but definitely seems like another way for the government to lord over us like what they’re doing with business and liquor licenses here in Michigan for anyone who dares to open their restaurant

I think it's going to look like a cross between the GEN 1 and GEN 2. I think I like the Gen 2 lights better as well as the grill. The honeycomb grill looks good. That grill looks very XLTish.

Looks like design and features will be very much evolutionary, not revolutionary. Likely a smaller design change than Gen 1 to Gen 2. Not necessarily a bad thing but probably nothing shocking about the design. It reads like capabilities will also be largely the same as Gen 2 and the focus will be on more tech. I like tech features, I just hope it doesn't rely on all this connectivity to be good. Half my commute doesn't have a cell signal, never mind 4G or 5G. There isn't even fiber internet in my town.

One thing about Ford. They will not drastically change a styling that has been successful all too much. Hence the Raptor grill and the ‘21 F-150 for that matter. Seems like styling in the industry has come from rounded, to square and now somewhere in the middle.

is that every year? Even here in socialist California we don’t have a inspection until after 4 yrs and then every 2 after.

Well, the first autos were rounded, and we have alternated back and forth between them ever since. I'd say we're at a point now where both exist at the same time. Ram trucks are rounded, but Jeeps are square. Challengers and square. Mustangs are rounded. F150s and broncos are square. :33:

Two years for new vehicles. Then every year. I've never thought of it as overbearing, just annoying . It tends to sneak up on me all the time. What I find most annoying is that you're penalized for being proactive with it. Mine is due 8/21. If I get the inspection done in 7/21, next year's inspection will be due 7/22. If I procrastinate and wait till September, I'm rewarded with it not being due to 9/22. Although perhaps that's not the case anymore since they combined the inspection and license registration processes...not sure.
