Trakktape is what I use. Actually based on my feedback they made a bigger roll for offroad use. I have both, and end up using each for different parts of the fender.

Pics from my first use of it over a year ago

Pretty much exactly that. At the time I had plastidipped my fenders so they didn't need the protection. But now the dip is off I do tape them as well. (the extra pieces are from my three year old helping me) IMAG2109.jpg

It is. But they make one called Ultra which is less abrasive to the touch and can be color-matched. Unfortunately, Line-X can't match the exact magnetic color of the flares as it's metallic.

looks pretty good though. is it super durable? I suppose one could put it on later if they do get scratched?

That's where I'm at. My fenders are covered in pinstripes. Finding a Line-X dealer that has the equipment to do Ultra spray and is willing to do fenders has been difficult for me. I've contacted about five different Line-X vendors and they for some reason don't want to do it. Ultra makes it $900 but the cost of replacing these fenders with OE is more and doesn't solve the issue of future pinstriping for me.

I wondered if you were to wrap them with a stealth PPF would it cover up the pin stripes
