Did you hear that @FordTechOne , the ford technician said the 6.2 is "the most reliable engine Ford ever made", he never mentioned your term "boat anchor" lol.

OP, nice video, this might be what some other members are hearing with their engines. Maybe fordtechone could elaborate on what actually ticks in the intake manifold?

That's an Intake manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve or actuator. When there is a failure the valve can oscillate at idle, causing the tapping noise. The system is designed to improve low end torque by changing the length of the intake runners. Above a set RPM, the runner position changes. This system is only on 2017+ Super Duty.

I should apologize here, I totally stole the thunder. Our boy @dspangler has all of this information under his belt, I should have let him answer first with his decades of experience and a full understanding of all things automotive, especially Gen 1 Raptors and the 6.2. Crazy that he's been banned so many times, he's an invaluable resource on here.

Thanks for the info. Didnt think we had that intake runner length tech in our Gen 1's but found it interesting none the less.
