I want an engine bay light on the under side of the hood. Let’s see what set up you guys have please. 1 center or 2 (1 each side). LED but not super bright like “rock lights” that’ll blind you at night. Also a sealed on/off switch mounted in there. Thanks

I just use my phones' flashlight or I have a rechargeable handheld flashlight I carry with me. Ford gave up on underhood lights when they kept failing and killing batteries. I think cheap led strip lights hooked up to a upfitter switch would be cool too. Then you could see the light coming out of the hood vents while driving, lol.

i use led strips. put a magnetic reed switch on them so the light turns on with the hood open and turns off when the hood is closed. the two downfalls of using a single light is that you cast shadows and most likely your head will be inbetween the light and what you are trying to look at. no matter how bright the light, you will be blocking it. guaranteed. the led strips i used run across the width of the hood so i have light from multiple directions and dont block what im trying to look at. maybe once the snow melts i can take pictures. currently the truck is in my backyard covered in 5 inches of snow

Yeah i carry a nice rechargeable with me, kinda wondered why they stopped with thr hood lights i guess that could be an issue lol. Ill toss a second set of strip lights and mag strips on my bed light order and see how that works out. Spring is gonna be busy lol.

My wife picked up these for family. It has five settings high and low for the strip and spot, it also has a handsfree mode where you wave your hand by it to turn it on and off.
