Over the weekend I had seen the ELEMENT Fire Extinguisher on a popular truck tv show. They went into detail as to how it worked and the time of discharge 4x longer than a 5lb fire bobble and no mess to clean up either.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these? they make a 50 second discharge and a 100 second discharge and several different mounting options. They look like they are the size of a road flare but have some serious stopping power and a big plus of non toxic and no mess

The problem with these is they don’t have the same throw as an extinguisher. You have to get very close to the flame for it to be effective, so anything much larger than what’s on the video would probably burn you before you got close enough to use it.

I have one in each car and one in the kitchen. If I can’t get close enough to use it, it’s a job for the fire department

Perhaps, but if there’s a pet or person stuck inside a vehicle (even if it’s not your vehicle) you’ll want that that extinguisher.

We sell them. Sold quite a few actually. I put 3 of them in my Raptor. On both sides of the console and one in the rear driver side door.

Take it from a guy who’s a Raptor owner, been in the fire protection business for 35+ years and note license plate this is not what you want. There is a reason they are not approved in the US and this technology is only viable in a enclosed environment. A engine compartment in our beautiful trucks are not enclosed. Stick with a 5lb. ABC rechargeable unit. Best chance for a truck fire.

Expensive? Have you priced an H3R clean agent fire extinguisher, even the 1.4# ones?

ABC if you want to save people or put out camp fires... but it may **** up your electronics if you were hoping to save the truck. Unless contents have changed, ammonium phosphate can be very corrosive! Especially with how all that powder gets in every kook and cranny, then is activated by water. However, better having one vs not.
