According to this edmunds review, e85 is worse on power and mileage...

E85 vs. Gasoline Comparison Test - Edmunds.com
Any idea what this means?

"Despite E85's higher octane rating (103 here) the flex-fuel nature of the Tahoe's 5.3-liter V8 engine prevents it from taking full advantage."

Several 5.4 Raptor owners, myself included, feel significant gains in performance on E85. Our CPUs are tuned to take advantage of the higher octane of E85.

Uh, our 6.2 is not designed to handle ethanol fuel so I'm a bit confused here.

This discussion pertains to the 5.4.

I understand that part. However, Wilson has a 6.2, yet he's still running E-30. Don't mean to be nosy and get all up on his shit, but he shouldn't be doing that. Yeah, do what you want. Just don't resell it without telling the next guy what you did to it. I'd certainly hate to be that guy.

All or close to all gas has ethanol in it, about 10%
I'm assuming e30 is 30% ethanol? I can't see that hurting anything at all.

You are correct. eXX means it can contain up to XX% of ethanol in regular gasoline.

Well obviously if he's still running it, it's not causing any problems.

Up to* 30% isn't all that much considering most gas is up to* 10%. It's only 20% more. Not much at all.

But hey, if you wanna keep arguing his truck will explode and destroy the universe go ahead. I'm done in this thread.

Never said that. Just because it's not causing problems in the short term it doesn't mean he won't have problems in the long term. I just said that he should tell the next owner of what he's done, at least. Maybe you should get your head out of your ass and start seeing the reality here. Stop making up ********.

Here's a little something from the owner's manual

Ethanol is more chemically active than gasoline. It corrodes some metals
and causes some plastic and rubber components to swell, break down or
become brittle and crack, especially when mixed with gasoline. Special
materials and procedures have been developed for flexible fuel vehicles
and the dispensers used by ethanol fuel providers.
