I just put a set on mine. Much quieter then the ko2’s so far. I expect the same performance as they were one gen 1

Mine are a little louder than the stock KO2s were. They are Load Range D and the ride is a little rougher than the Load Range C KO2s, but not bad.

According to tirerack:

Duratrac:
315/70R17 >> Load range D >> 61 pounds
35x12.5-17 >> Load range E >> 68 pounds

KO2s (OEM):
315/70R17 >> Load Range C >> 65 pounds (for a C tire, this is heavy)

I assume your increase mileage was due to adding 3 pounds per corner?

Mine don't seem loud at all. lost .4 mpg though (35x12.5-17)

Im not sure why. I guess its a little taller and a little heavier. (34.4" vs 34.8")

Load range is why it is heavier:

C >> 6 ply
D >> 8 ply
E >> 10 ply

I never get load range E as I feel is over kill for a daily driver. But if you off-road or tow and you want a stout tire then you want E.

I think the duratrac in 315/70/17 is the perfect tire. Light, great all around traction (incredible in snow), Load range D (stronger than a 6-ply but not as heavy as a 10ply) and with the aggressive tread pattern, it looks great.

I realize why it is heavier, I meant I wasn't sure why I lost a half mpg.

I live in a rural area and drive dirt roads daily, so 10 ply isn't the worst thing in the world for me. Kinda wish I knew about the 315 and the d rating though, but oh well.

There are guys here that run Toyo's and and some of those tires are 80 pounds. With an 80 pound tire they are losing 2mpg.
