Okay,

time for one of the final mods - improve the stereo functions of the Raptor.

I took the truck in on Monday, and here is what it's getting:

Kenwood 991HD head unit. I'm having a custom bezel made to mount it as all the ones I looked at were shit.

Maestro OBD interface - this will give me all my HVAC controls, front and rear camera controls, and TPMS by tire! it allows all the stock functions to work on steering wheel as well as the buttons on the center console (seat heater button and screen control toggle each other)

JL Audio ZR650 separates in the front doors. I have these in my Ferrari and they are awesome speakers, very bright, good mids and great highs.

For rear fill I'm doing JL Audio ZR800's - these are 8" mid subs in the rear doors. We are fabricating some mounts there as they are a bit big for the space, but I wanted some good mid bass.

sub - AudioMobile 2110 - this was a tough one. I gave them the restriction that is HAS to go where the stock sub was, and cannot stick out or intrude into where the TuffBox is located. I'm going to sacrifice some sub performance, but my main goal in this truck is off roading, and I want to keep the rear seat and the Tuff Box.

Amp - JL Audio HD900/5 - This is a digital amp, we are either putting it under the passenger seat, or behind the rear seats. We are going to experiment with the ZR800's in the rear, and might wire them in parallel. 100w per channel and 500 to the sub.

CB - I'm installing the ICOM 880h - head unit will take the spot of one of the sunglass holders, the head unit behind the dash, and the mic on the side of the shift console, but removable so I don't have to look at it when i'm not off roading.

Siren - I'm also having a ORS Off Road siren installed, with the switches flush mounted on either side of the headlight knob.

Soundproofing - RoadKill - pretty much everywhere.

Here are some of the first pics, more to come:

A little West Texas still left in the truck:

Cool. I don't recall, did you have the factory Nav unit in your truck previously? It looks like I can almost see it, but wanted to make sure.

I did have the factory nav unit - the truck was loaded with everything but the moonroof, cause why tease when you can go full topless...

anyways, the mount for the head unit should flush up to the stock trim, it's the piece that mates the two that has to be custom done.

here's some more roadkill ****.

Noah, don't get me wrong, I love the sub, and thank you for the advice. My tough decision was not pulling the tuff box so I could do a full sub setup.

Here is one last roadkill **** for tonight
