DOT Helmets for kids

What are those of you who have young kids using?

We wont be doing anything crazy but be nice to take my son to ride around in the dunes.

Use any type of Helmet skateboard, bike, etc... Just something to protect the head if it should contact a hard surface in the truck...

The funny thing is the DOT does not approve helmets. They have nothing to do with helmet approval process... The DOT tells sellers of helmets do they meet a certain guide line for impact then you can put a DOT sticker on it... Its a very flimsy guide line... You can also order DOT stickers and put them on yourself..
