I decided to try out the door block off plates from soundsgood stereo and while i was at it add some more sound deadening to the outer door skin and floor. The door plates went on pretty smooth however there were 2 issues i found. You do have to drill some small pilot holes for the supplied screws and this is where the first issue came up. There are a few holes on the forward upper right that line up really well with some electrical plugs. I'm pretty sure i drilled into one plug but must have missed all the major organs because everything still works. So make sure you double check whats on the other side before you drill. The second issue is on the inner door panel, there is a white piece of structure welded to the inside of the panel that violently interferes with the plate. I took a razor knife and scalped it and problem solved. I added some sound deadening to cap it off just incase it had some acoustical purpose. Passenger side was the same. After that i tackled the floor and pulled the seats and center console. Its pretty straight forward to cover the floor but i did learn one thing and had a bit of a scary moment. When you remove the center console you need to disconnect the shift cable from the shifter then unplug a few plugs, take out some bolts and the console comes out. Well, somewhere in all the removal i ended up pulling on the shift cable and took the truck out of park (parking brake was set) so when i went to put the console back in and move the shifter it wouldn't move. The shift lock wouldn't disengage even with the both plugs plugged in so i tried to start the truck and nothing, just clicking. Thought maybe i killed the battery so i tried jumping it and nothing. Thanks to @The Car Stereo Company for calling me and helping me troubleshoot. If you pull that cable you'll never know if the truck is in park and it won't start if it isn't.

Yes, those plates are a little harder to line up due to the lack of alignment dimples. Next truck we get into our facility, we will do a walk-through video on how to install these into this generation truck. You can always reach out to us and we can answer any questions
