I'd do something to seal it - super glue or epoxy. Then leave it as is until it causes an issue. I wouldn't want to spend $750 until it's broken broken.

Well it’s already started letting water in & forming condensation inside so I guess I’m replacing, looks ghetto otherwise

Replace for sure. Water will short out the SOD module and pull down the CAN bus, resulting in multiple systems being inoperable. Better to replace one expensive component than 2.

FYI- I wound up replacing the tail light assembly w/ new one from Tasca- when I pulled the cracked light (which @ this point constantly had moisture in it & was noticeable esp when on) I was startled to see how badly corroded the back side of the BLIS module was. At first I was like “shoot- I shouldn’t have let this go so long w/ water in it”- but quickly realized the backside wouldn’t have been effected. I think may actually be from road salt in northeast getting kicked up through the hole in fender where the back of the light is exposed. Anyhow I cleaned it up as good as I cared to, mainly making sure the opposite side mating surface was clean & smooth so I got a nice tight fit. The actual inside/functional part of the BLIS looked mostly OK actually. I didn’t bother to pull the other side to see if it too was corroded, I imagine yes…like I said I think this is from salt/sea air/car wash water getting up in there not from the actual crack/leak. Removal/install fairly easy- only tricky part is plugging the BLIS module into the new tail light there’s very little slack on the harness.
