Considering the order...

Hello everyone. Just stumbled upon your site literally two minutes ago. I can tell already its going to be a valuable source of info (and hopefully socializing) for me.

Very long story short: after surviving the last few years with the recession, multiple houses in different states (plus rent on an apartment), moving across country for work, spousal issues (now all worked out), etc...and catching up on all that stuff....I'm ready to buy my RAPTOR!!!

I've been drooling over this truck for months. I go to ford.com multiple times a day to build my dream Raptor. I'm whoooped.

So, I went around to getting my cash together and getting pre-approved for financing for the remaining balance and now I have finance approval letter in hand....

...but, I can't find the raptor I want.

So, I think I'm going to have to order it.

I went to a couple of dealerships and drove a Raptor CRW so I could get the feel for it.

I'm in love (coming out of a 2003 explorer XLT with a 4.6L) LOL

But, I'm starting to hear horror stories on the ordering process and follow through. I'm really sold on the black exterior (no graphics package), but multiple dealerships I've spoken to says the black pigment is sourced from Japan and is now hard to get due to limited supply. I'm also really sold on navigation, but supposedly there is a back order on Sony Navigation for the same reason (Japan tsunami).

But, the dealerships keep quoting me a time frame of 6-8 weeks for delivery (reading some of these threads makes me understand this is not realistic).

Any advice?

I'll go hit up the new member section and also read some more on user experiences.

Talk to Randy (username: HARLEY6LF250SDU). Getting the nav may be tricky though unless your willing to wait for the 2012 order bank to open in August

Yep go with randy he got me my 2011 scab with nav i know where theres a white one with nav but not black

Randy is the ******* MAN! but yeah i highly doubt youll get a Tux Black with NAV before 2012, unless you get reaaal lucky! but good luck on it tho!

Welcome.

I wish I could help, but NO MORE Tux Black or NAV for 2011.
Only what's in dealer stock. Every Dealer is in the same boat.
Even the 2012 could be delayed if you want Nav?? So far no offical word.

If you place an order with a dealer at this pont in the model year, 8-10
weeks is going to be close. BUT you will not get Nav.

There are a few available, but the dealers want MSRP or above??

I don't get a brokers fee, I'm a Ford Fleet Mngr, for 2 Dealers.
1 Large Truck only dealer in St Louis, and 1 small car/truck dealer in Oklahoma.

I actually found my truck today. I worked out the details, secured it via deposit and I'm going to pick it up Friday.

It's a bit of a haul to get it, but a good excuse for a road trip.
