Rookie mistake accidently posted this in Gen 3. Sorry

Hello all, New to me 2020 Raptor.. Question on this trim that I've seen rub and remove paint on the bumper. Anyone take theirs off and have pics of it off? Should I remove?

I suggest cutting back the rubber trim on the bumper so it doesn’t extend past the protective film. I have to do mine and touch up the paint.

How fast you driving for the roof trim to curl up like that lol? Mine has lifted but not that much.

Havent noticed any paint missing from my bumper but I do have those same rubber trim pieces reaching for the sky. Honestly they just annoy me by always catching my eye every time I walk by my truck, other than that they havent been an issue.

Welcome to the club! Ford is going to warranty the paint and have the bumper repainted. I should be able to take it in to the auto body shop in a couple weeks. They said something about ordering different plastic trim than what is on the bumper.

Like Ram man said, it should be warranty. If you adjust the angle of the end piece, the rubber is on the plastic film and doesn't damage the paint. But, it seems like almost none, including mine, came properly adjusted. I saw one of these threads right after I got mine and I fixed it before the paint was damaged.

Ill ask ford the next time I'm in there on the bumper. Kind of a dumb thing to have if it messes up the bumper. When I look behind the bumper I see 3-4 tabs holding it and I was just thinking of popping them off.

HAHA @JohnyPython not that fast 70's on the highway. But I bought mine used so I don't know how the last person drove.

I had my '19 front bumper repainted due to long streaks of rubbed off paint and rust. Ford has a part number for thick plastic film (PPF) cut properly for both bumpers that needs to be installed after the bumper is repainted.

WARNING - the Ford body shop told me they don't have a Ford paint number so their first repaint attempt (that they let me go home with) was no match. Looked Silver whenever the sun was out or the truck was out of the garage. Had to take it back a 2nd time. 2 weeks in all without the truck. thankfully the dealer coughed up a rental. So lesson learned is move the truck to sunlight or take a big flashlight to illuminate the bumper and don't settle for a mis-painted bumper.

That's scary on the mismatched paint. How do they not have paint to match the bumper. What paint did they use the second round since the first was silver?

Paint code should be J7 with a flattening agent in the clear. From what my painter has told me J7 is hard to match, which is why he won't paint my skid plate and fog light fillers to match.
