Not necessarily keeping me up at night. Just frustrating too even be their in the first place.. it does show when the door is closed also.

No an expert but I can’t see why it needs to be that massive of a fix, painting the whole side? that area seems shaded by the door slot contour so maybe try a smaller fix and any blend mismatch will be hidden by the contour. I would at least ask if they can protect upper side of that lip where the sun hits and do a really small localized blend, sand smooth and blend clear in just the inside of the notch area.
