I know you mentioned in this thread that your not interested in running duel spares so is this cage gonna be functional or just looks? I designed the cage myself and with the help of a buddies shop put this together for my baja trips. One detail my buddie added to the design was following the forward angle of the cab while also following the shape of the cab / window line. Looked like it belonged / flowed with the trucks lines. Sorry if the pics don't show that real well, sold the Gen 1. I set this cage up so you could still get a dirt bike in between the tires when not using the removable cooler rack. Everything was designed to be locked down secure as theft can be an issue in baja yet while on the trail you still had access to the beer & water coolers without removing them. The intent is a combo of looks and function. The top half the rally only needs to hold some rear facing chase lights and maybe the fire extinguishers. So that’s mostly the looks part. The bottom half(below the bedrail) will primarily be the core unit for potential one day 16” bypasses.

I’m thinking just doing one flat spare directly above it’s factory location.

100% going to follow that cab slant, not a big fan of the vertical bars. I actually used your post in an earlier thread to help draw up option C here. Following the rear window seams..

but for real is D your preferred config. i really want to start bending but im so torn between C, and D

Yes, I prefer d, but bro, it's your decision. The reason is, you can mount a fire extinguisher on the bar attached to the box side, easy access and it just looks cooler! But, you didn't mod your raptor for coolness, did ya :driver:

I just needed one other opinion, either this confirms I am sane or insane I’m not sure but tube has been bent so I’m locked in on going on top of the bed rails.

That top bar is leaning a bit to the left, better redo it. You can see that clearly in your pic.
Whats awkwardly funny is I cut the left side 1/4” tall so it literally is Hahahaha please kindly log out of my security cameras...lol
