Goals are a reliable daily driver that can be taken south of the border to bounce around and chase my buddies that race

First real mods were beadlocks and 37's

Why real beadlocks? Two reasons: My wife drives this when we are at the dunes, and when in Mexico rescuing racecars in silt. In both situations I want to basically be able to have the driver put the tires in single digit pressures (or lower if necessary)

Pulled the coil off the coilover to cycle the suspension and trim to clear

even with a decent amount of trimming off the inner fender the 37's still rub at a slight turn:

even more trimming of the fender, inner fender, and front bumper and we are clear lock to lock in the front

the rear got the typical slice and pound, here is a photo pre seam sealer and bed texture... Also not shown is the inner fender moved up a solid inch

the fender flare also had the lip trimmed off of 90% of it. To be honest with the wheel turned and a real bottom out this will pull the flare off (only the flare). However I will live with this as I can turn around and grab it and reinstall if it is still in decent shape.... So far with quite a few baja miles on it I haven't had this problem

I ran around with zero lift and 37's for quite a while. Then I knew my prerunner projects weren't going to be close to ready for desert season, so I started prepping the raptor to bounce around in the dirt/dunes with.

G+J 3rd brake light, Baja D lights, and antenna mount (plus a 110w race radio I didnt take a photo of).... never mind the dirty window

That was my setup for a while and duned it a decent amount. Found out that the rear rubs pretty good when articulating over razorbacks

Almost forgot, thought I'd be "smart" and get rid of the exhaust tips that hang below the rear bumper... easiest way to do that is to just remove the whole rear section of exhaust, right?

51325331044_736de8e7fd_h.jpg

well I underestimated how much heat would be directed right towards the rear bumper is where there are a few sensors:

Melted the loom and grounded the sensor frying a module. Crap.

Used the wife's fiesta to pick up Deavers: +3 HD's

Disassembled the deavers to cycle

also added a +1 KHC shackle

These things give up up travel which they need badly. Does anyone make a spring under kit for the Gen 2's? Other than Robby Woods, his stuff is great, just costly and they are suuper busy.

Looking back if I could do it over, I would probably skip the Fox 3.0 upgrade. I like them, but I would probably just send my stock stuff to SDG to revalve and spring and save a few bucks. 3.0 upgrade is nice, but the soft setting is a bit wallowee. Unfortunately the soft to firm dial seems to affect low shaft speed situations when I would really prefer it to affect high shaft speed situations. Makes sense though based on how it works.

Nice! Definitely have an EXO run on my bucket list. Any insights you can share? Would you do it again?
