Hey guys.

so truck is clicking on cold start. Shoulds like cam phasers. Got an appointment at Ford in 3 weeks. Have a 2018 45k miles. They said they do all 4 phasers but service advisor wasn’t sure about timing chain. Is that supposed to be done as well. Where can I find out what needs to get done for This. Also are fords new phasers better than the ones I have ?

Thank you

This has been discussed many times over in various threads; a TSB (20-2315) was released for this concern. The causal part is the camshaft phasers; the bulletin indicates that no additional timing components should be replaced unless an obvious concern is present. The phasers have been redesigned to eliminate the failure mode that caused some of the original ones to exhibit the concern.
