Hey everyone, hope your day is going well! I came across a really annoying grinding sound every time I locked my truck, specifically the tailgate. Took the panel off and did some investigating. Looks like the boot/rubber cowling on the actuator has completely eroded. Tailgate still locks but makes this hideous grinding sound. I am in need of a replacement part number. I checked the ford tailgate diagram and had no luck. I was planning on talking to the dealer but wanted to hear if you all had any insight. Thanks in advance!

here, on frf
that looks like a gen 1 truck. thats an aftermarket actuator. its not a ford part. it was added at some point in the trucks life. if the gears grind, you can buy a replacement for pretty cheap.
