So been looking at the BFG KM3's in a 37"x12.50x17 (D rated @ $414) or the 37"x13.50x17 (E rated @ $385). Both these tires seem to be in short supply and I noticed bigger discounts on 20" rim versions. A vendor also mentioned that he had heard that BFG was not going to produce any more of these tires.

Has anyone heard anything about BFG supply issues, seasonal supply thinning, or are they replacing the KM3 etc.?

Everything is in short supply right now, took me a whole lot of phone calls to find a set of Toyo AT3's actually on a shelf somewhere, and there's no ETA for them to be back.

Took me two months to get the 35s for my Jeep earlier this year as well as the new 35s for the Raptor this summer. Jeep.jpg

I run KM3 on my Jeep also. Great tire. Don’t worry about the load range being E. I thought it would be too stiff for such a light vehicle but it isn’t at all. They are new and replacing the KM2’s. Just put an order in and you will get them once they get unloaded here in CA lol

Usually the smaller the wheel size the cheaper the tire. Larger wheel size much more expensive. Don’t know why.

Of your looking at KM3 (Mud terrain) tires and want tires now I suggest the Cooper STT pro also available in both sizes, made in America and in stock several places. The E Rated 13.50 wide are much heavier however, I would stick with the 12.50 which are D rated. Most likely I will swap these when my 37 package gets in hopefully beginning of jan.

A rubber apocalypse may be coming.

Fun facts:
-It takes 4-6 years for a new rubber tree to produce latex (rubber).
-90% of natural rubber comes from Thailand which is 15,000 miles away.
-Natural rubber is white in color. Carbon Black gives tires the black color that we are all familiar with.
