Has anyone mounted the new Baja Design S1 amber on the bed in the rear as a dust chase light? If so how does it work, and how did you wire it.

Yeah a few people have. Baja Designs extension harness and an upfitter works well. You MIGHT be able to use our S1/S2 Reverse Kit harness. It MIGHT be long enough to reach both sides but we've not actually tested this since we designed it for under the rear (but we left enough slack I think). You'd just tape off the last harness (used for the reverse connection) but it MIGHT work for ya:

It connects to your upfitter then 2 lights.

@4x4TruckLEDs.com , so just buy that reverse light kit you posted and just run it to my uplifter switch in the engine bay and a ground and I should be good ? Im probably just going to run 1 S1 for now, and by the guess of the length of that wire connection, it would be on the passenger side right ?

Well our harness was designed for the reverse kits. We wanted a more stream-lined solution then attaching splitters upon splitters and extensions so we made a single cable that combined your upfitter connections and a splitter harness into 1 nice cable.

So the cable will have a ground point and upfitter connection that goes up by the engine. Then enough length of cable to run it along the frame all the way to the back of your truck (to both the passenger and driver side). There is a final connection on the harness, as you can see in the picture, which is designed to plug the Baja Designs rear upfitter into (for folks who want the lighst to come on when they go into reverse).

Since you are using this for chase lights, mounted to your bed itself, you're just going to tape over this last connection (you don't have to, but you'll get water in here and it'll corrode, so you may as well tape it up or seal it with silicone, or cut if off and put some weatherproof connectors on the end).

You'll have enough slack to get to one of the chase lights since you'll run it along the frame rail and then up near the rear window. You should also have enough slack for a 2nd light on the other side as well (we left slack for the rear for good measure).

So it should work great for your applications.

Bad ass, thanks. Maybe since its long enough I might as well do 2 lights then.
