Oh that ain't good  Lots of fluid up front, was it a cooler line that let go?

Left side cooler line at the coupling. Waiting to get it fixed and test driven to see if there was any internal damage.

They think it's coincidental that I blew 10 miles after being serviced... I think it's BS.

i wonder why so many people are confused as to what a "flush" even is. it kills me to see people talk 100% nonsense and place blame on an issue when they truly have no idea.

transmission flushes use the transmission pump, there is no outside pressure. its being done at your cooler, with old fluid going out one hose and new fluid going in. once done they top it off if it needs it and thats it.

ive been hearing this "flush" myth shit forever and dont understand how it still keeps popping up even though its not even remotely close to fact.

What does it cost to have the trans rebuilt at the dealer??

Typically less expensive than buying a complete re-manufactured unit because they are repairing the root cause of the issue and any affected components as opposed to replacing everything. A certified, experienced trans tech can tear down a 6R80, diagnose the issue, and re-assemble the unit within 1 day (assuming parts are readily available).

Here are some things to consider:

1. A clean, indoor shop. The transmission and it's internals should not be exposed to an outdoor or dirty environment.
2. A Ford specified transmission flusher. Dealers are required by Ford Corporate to have a heated transmission flusher with a 3-filter system, flow gauge, and hour meter. These flushers look like a small red colored air compressor (barrel design) and have red/blue hoses. The unit is made by a company called G-Tec. The flusher is used to clean out the transmission cooler and cooler lines; if they are not flushed or replaced the result is a repeat failure. If they don't have one, run, don't walk away.
3. A Ford OEM Certified transmission technician with experience. The tech should be certified in Ford Specialty 37 - Automatic Transmission. If the tech is not certified, do not trust them with the rebuild.

Hope that helps.

I have a 2011 raptor originally purchased with 70k miles, in year 2017 Started transmission issues hard shifts pretty much immediately after purchasing it dealership said nothing was wrong blew my transmission about a year after recently the recall came out for bad pcm and speed sensor was having same issue with hard shifts on a new transmission. Coincidence I think not. I had them do the recall which only updated my pcm, never touched my speed sensor. Was still having issues they told me that i should contact ford that they won’t do anything about it. It’s not there truck pretty much not there problem so a week later brought it to an outside transmission shop to get a second opinion and my transmission blew once again. Transmission mechanics reviewed and confirmed that if you have a bad speed sensor and pcm that a transmission can have issues internally. I then got in touch with Ford after waiting and they told me to bring it in the dealership and have them look at it. So I had it towed there and all they told me was I had a blown transmission with I knew. They called me back and said they will not fix it that I have to spend another 5200 on a new transmission. I asked for a supervisor and they said he would contact from customer support. I then waited and never got a call. The lady handling my case then called me and said they still won’t fix it. I asked if a supervisor can call me and explain why still nothing be careful Ford knows something and would contact them if you have a recall or have had to replace transmission.
