Received a Spotless DIW-20 as an early Father’s Day gift. I’m hoping it’s as easy as “mount it according to the instructions, wash the truck, let it dry spot free.” Anything I should know before hooking up and using it the first time?

Pretty much as easy as that! That’s a nice gift. Some tips to make it more effective:
-Use it with a pressure washer
-Get quick disconnect attachments so you don’t have to thread your hose every time you use it (unless you’re leaving the hoses attached)
-You only really need the DI water for the final rinse
-If you have a ceramic coating or good sealant, it will make drying even easier
-Use an electric leaf blower to get most of the water off
-When you disconnect the supply or outlet hose, the unit drains quite a bit of water, so just be ready for that if there are non-waterproof things around

Well, this thing works. I washed, walked away, and came back to zero water spots. It's really bizarre to wash a large piece of tinted glass, leave it all wet, and come back and it's all clean and smooth.

P.S. I mounted the unit to the side of my deck and leave the hose attached.
