I set my gains on my jl rd 900 amp, front and rear clipped at about half way on the gain setting with volume at 25 no equalizer ,but the sub with a 50 hz wave clips at about a quarter turn ,does that seem right ,my issue its not enough bass .did I do something wrong .the amp puts our 500watts at 2 ohms ,the sub is a 550 watt rms at 2 ohms. if I turn the volume to 20 the gain does not clip till halfway .

here, on frf
sub would be better at 80hz with a 24db per octave slope. the clipping seems like its signal related. what processor are you using?

If I put volume to 20 and do the same test it clips at halfway on the gain . Also I don’t have a bass **** installed yet . How does a bass **** give u more bass , is it just uping the gain .

I actually redid the gain at volume 22 ,22.5 is 3/4 volume , the gain is just short of half way at about 40 percent .so your saying 500 watt amp is to little for a 150-600 watt rms sub?
