Happy Friday.

I would like to activate my BD S8 light with the high beams.
But per FordTechOne, one should not tap into the lighting circuit to power a relay.
BCM issues down the road.

Question:
So then how to otherwise activate my S8 light with the high beams ?

Solutions ?
Is there a non-contact sensor that connects to a relay or such ?
Kinda like a tick-tester.

Or how else to git-r-done ?
Deep thoughts appreciated.

Thanks very much !

Below are a couple of ideas.
I would appreciate thoughts from @FordTechOne or anyone else knowledgeable.

Idea 1:
Can we tap into the low-power side of the high-beam relay to also trigger a second relay ?

Idea 2:
Can we tap into anything related to the fog lamps that are on the swankier models ?
Fog lamps go off when high beams come on.
If the wiring is the same, perhaps there is something that we can use.

Fingers crossed.
Thanks very much !

There is no high beam relay. The high beams are powered directly by an Field Effect Transistor (FET) in the BCM.

Possibly, but you’d have to figure out if the harness connections are actually there. Regardless, the fog lamps are driven by the BCM, so you’d have to find a way to reprogram it to recognize an input (switch) and provide the voltage output.
