Man do I looovve that ExtremeAire. But the 96amp draw scares the crap out of me. IMHO that justifies adding a second battery and the charging system to support it it.

I agree... I have a 15 pound bottle, it lasts a long time! Each tire takes about 60-90 seconds to fill, which is faster than even the high end compressors.

Mine is mounted in a bracket on my bed rack, but easily removable and portable!

Would you post a picture of your bracket? I'd like to see some mounting options for the CO2 tanks.

I'm personally not worried about it. The amp draw should be directly related to the pressure, and the 95amp rating is probably at the max rated pressure of 150psi. I'm not sure what the curve looks like for this unit, and I don't have any way to measure the actual amp draw, but I doubt that it draws more than 50A at 45psi.

However, even using the worst case of 95A and figuring 6 minutes of run time, we're only talking 9.5 amp-hours of drain from a 65AH battery. This is about 15% of the battery's capacity.

I don't make a habit of it, but I have refilled my tires w/o the engine running and noticed nothing unusual during startup.
