So, I won't go into super detail here as I got the idea from this thread from a couple years ago. http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f81/38-watt-reverse-lights-20758/#post354284

I used the 893 bulbs which I found locally for about $7 each. The only difference between the 894 and 893 is the base which gets removed anyway so it really doesn't matter. I was very careful to hold the metal prongs coming out of the lights with pliers while doing every part of this because they are very very delicate. I broke the bases with a vice then slightly straightened and cut off the majority of the prongs. Then I bent them back on themselves and smashed them flat to fit in the factory sockets. Be very careful inserting them into the sockets, it doesn't take much to bend the prongs on the lights. If you are particularly ham ****** I suggest having one of your dainty buddies do it for you. Everything fits well and works well I haven't used them yet in the dark so I can't report on that but I will as soon as I have more intel. These seem to be a good cheap option for those of us with the backup camera that just need a little more light to see out of our side mirrors while backing in the dark. I'll let you know for sure. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Here is a little photo tutorial. Should be self explanatory for the most part.

Seriously. I paid 60 bucks for my backup leds and don't have to worry about my truck catching fire. Each their own I guess... good luck op
No, I like the mode, just pay attention to the consequences :)
I was concerned about heat that could warp the plastic and make the light look goofy.

That is a lot of heat, make sure you don't keep it in revers for to long.
Thanks Prop. I agree that could potentially be an issue. That is the main reason I didn't try the 50w version of this bulb. There is the same amount of air space around the bulb as factory which is pretty significant. I am making an educated guess that the truck would have to be left parked in reverse with the brake on to cause any sort of issue. The reference threads in the first posters thread on different forums all mentioned this possibility but no one seemed to have a problem. I will keep an eye on it though.
