1 lane over...saw it coming the entire time
In Texas, the state where if you leave your keys in the truck, it becomes a raptor full of illegals.
My son 2x on his cam, recorded folks pulling in front of him, and slamming on the brakes to force a collision and then collect.
Both times he stopped with inches to spare, and they sped off.
Both were recorded, but the cops did not care even with great pictures of the tag.
I assume you (and more importantly, your truck) are alright though?
I got my first one a couple months ago.
I do have to say, having a dash cam also keeps me in check from driving like an asshole.
I'd say that's a safe bet since he wasn't the one involved in the crash and he's here posting about it.
yes...i moved left....sounded worse then it was.
Not much the cops can do. Hitting the brakes on the highway is not illegal. And not only that, the perps will claim they were braking because they saw something on the road. Or say it wasn't even them because they lent the car to a friend. Nearly impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt they are lying.
There is nothing to charge these people with and even a law student could get them off if the police tried.
The best advice is to be on the lookout for these types of setups, not get distracted, and keep your distance.
Glad you didn't suffer any damage.
What dashcam did you go with, and how clean is the install? Been considering grabbing one myself.
Not necessarily. Cars trying to avoid the crash could have side-swiped him from the right. That's happened to me a couple of time, and can potentially cause more costly damage than a head-on collision. Which is why I asked.
BlackVue 590w $239....install is clean...cant really see it.
I've been thinking about a dash cam for a while - does yours start recording automatically, or how does it work? Did you get it installed somewhere or is it easy to do yourself?
Separate names with a comma.
