I got the lights delivered a week or so ago they were on back order for a bit. I finally had time to look at the plugs on new ones and i yanked the lights off my 2010. So the plugs are kinda similiar as they use the same exact pins just the housing are diffrent between them , I contemplated cutting off the old plugs and soldering onto new ones . I included a few pictures , i took one of the new ones and used a paperclip with a little hook bent on end to try and pull out the locking deal from inside , but couldnt see how to grab onto it so i ended cutting side of plug out to expose the lock then i could see how to hook and pull the lock out(gray plug) . The black plug from 2010 had red lock deal inside and that was easy to grab onto with paperclip hook and remove it completetly out of plug. Once removed with a flashlight you will see plastic tangs on both pins, use a tiny flatblade screwdriver to pull tang away from pins and pin will slide out. Be sure you mark which side the colored wire came out of , you will want to insert the colored wire on new light in same position on old plug. Pins slide in and lock onto tangs , then reinsert red lock into plug and your done. Havent installed in truck yet testing with a 12 volt battery they seem brighter then the 7 year old ones , i will treat them with UV protectectant before i reinstall.
Can you do this Mod for me? You make it look soooo easy peeeezy
Jk

so the pins were the same, but the plastic part of the connector was different?

do you have part number for grill lights, or are they different mounting?

Yes Pins are exactly the same just plastic housings different . The lights in my grill were not oxidized as bad as my marker lights , so never investigated if they would interchange.

So what are all you guys doing with those old yellowing lights you're removing? I'd sure like to pick them up from you. I'd like to retrofit them into my Deuce military truck! Pm me if you'd like to let them go. Thanks.

I recently went out and test drove a 2017 Raptor, and the first thing I noticed was the Marker LEDs in all four corners were the same as my 2014 except the lens was like a dark or smoke tint. I know everyone knows that no matter how much 303 or UV protectant you use the older ones will still turn yellowish. While I liked the new raptors, I couldn't justify spending 75k because I still love my 2014. So I called my parts guy and he was able to find the part numbers for the new raptors, and while I couldn't tell if the plugs were the same the price is what shocked me. On the GEN1 the price on average is like 67$ per marker light, I was able to get all 4 of the GEN2s for alittle over 100$. Once I got them in, they are almost identical with the exception that the GEN2s are a tad bit taller but completely unnoticeable unless comparing side by side. The plugs still use the same 2 pin but the style of the outside of the plug is different. Normally you could just depin both and switch the plugs but even with the right tool I was unable to release the pin lock on the older plugs. The new ones depined easily, but no such luck on the older ones. So without wanting to break the plug, I just cut the plugs soldered an heat strinked the old plugs to the new LEDs, wires and everything match up. Then its just plug and play. Old markers in the front just pullout, pill the LED housing out first then the rubber and the plug will come out too. Remove the tail lights to get the rear markers out and its as simple as that for a hell of a lot cheaper.
As I was driving home on the Toll Road there was a Gen2 on the road with me. I had to re-check a few times.

The Gen2 marker lights are brighter..... from what I noticed.

Can anyone confirm this?
